Lightweight, Open Structure
The cost-effective steel frame on this one level parking deck uses long-spanning custom welded beams with SPEEDFLOOR® Suspended Concrete Flooring to form a lightweight open structure. The tapered beams form a cantilever that supports a perimeter guard rail and a lightweight concrete planter box, producing a strong ‘green’ connection. The 6 columns supporting the 470 square metre deck offered versatility to the position of the entry and exit on the footprint.

They turned to PARKD for a modular demountable car park — a cost-efficient option that can be transported and reused in future.<\/p>\n<p>PARKD’s innovative modular transportable car park system was designed to enable fast, streamlined construction of car parks with minimal impact to the building structure. Prefabricated off-site, the system can be erected in a matter of days, saving significant time. All service holes can be pre-drilled, ensuring easy integration of services. <\/p>\n<p>In addition to its modular prefabricated construction, the system offers a number of qualities that make it the perfect fit for PARKD’s car park system. “It’s lightweight, it has good spanning ability and the surface finish is exceptional,” explains McUtchen.<\/p>\n<p>The installation of the PARKD car park system at City Subaru Victoria Park has been smooth and swift. “Within two weeks of completing the footings we reached substantial completion,” says McUtchen. Dominion Constructors is a New Zealand owned construction company who has been trading for over 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>The six-storey public parking building serves several apartments, a rooftop gym, street-level commercial units and is near a major event centre. retail space. To meet the demand of this new mall it was essential that a parking deck was constructed, and Suspended Concrete Flooring was the perfect fit.<\/p>\n<h5>Light, Open Spaced and Versatile Parking Layout<\/h5>\n<p>The parking decks have been constructed using long-spanning fabricated structural steel beams and SPEEDFLOOR<span style=\"position: relative; font-size: 16.0284px; line-height: 0; vertical-align: baseline; top: -0.5em;\">®<\/span> Suspended Concrete Flooring to produce a light, open spaced and versatile parking layout. The steel beams span the 17 metres between the concrete-filled round columns allowing easy access to the parking bays.
