They turned to PARKD for a modular demountable car park &mdash; a cost-efficient option that can be transported and reused in future.<\/p>\n<p>PARKD&rsquo;s innovative modular transportable car park system was designed to enable fast, streamlined construction of car parks with minimal impact to the building structure. Prefabricated off-site, the system can be erected in a matter of days, saving significant time. The lightweight concrete system is built using three main components: precast columns, continuously voided beams and SPEEDFLOOR<span style=\"position: relative; font-size: 16.0284px; line-height: 0; vertical-align: baseline; top: -0.5em;\">&reg;<\/span>Transportable Concrete Floor panels.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The SPEEDFLOOR<span style=\"position: relative; font-size: 16.0284px; line-height: 0; vertical-align: baseline; top: -0.5em;\">&reg;<\/span>&nbsp;panels are an important part of the PARKD Car Park system as they offer a simple light weight solution for the slab structure.&rdquo;&nbsp;says Peter McUtchen, Managing Director of PARKD.<\/p>\n<p>The SPEEDFLOOR<span style=\"position: relative; font-size: 16.0284px; line-height: 0; vertical-align: baseline; top: -0.5em;\">&reg;<\/span>&nbsp;Transportable Concrete Floor System comprises a unique combination of cold-rolled steel sections and concrete to form a transportable concrete floor. All service holes can be pre-drilled, ensuring easy integration of services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its modular prefabricated construction, the system offers a number of qualities that make it the perfect fit for PARKD&rsquo;s car park system.&nbsp;&ldquo;It&rsquo;s lightweight, it has good spanning ability and the surface finish is exceptional,&rdquo;&nbsp;explains McUtchen.<\/p>\n<p>The installation of the PARKD car park system at City Subaru Victoria Park has been smooth and swift.&nbsp;&ldquo;Within two weeks of completing the footings we reached substantial completion,&rdquo;&nbsp;says McUtchen. Construction took place over two summer breaks, with the first level completed in just four weeks.","content":"<h5>Student Parking in Short Supply<\/h5>\n<p>With student parking in and around the South Auckland based Manukau Institute of Technology always in short supply, the board decided that a progressively built carpark was the only answer. They commissioned that a two-level carpark was to be built level by level over one of the existing &lsquo;on-grade&rsquo; parking areas. The structural steel and SPEEDFLOOR&reg; carpark were deemed the most cost-competitive structure.<\/p>\n<h5>Two-Level Carpark Constructed Over Two Summer Breaks<\/h5>\n<p>Part of the solution for the tertiary educational institute was to consider building during the summer break to limit the disruption to the students. The first level of over 1,400 square metres of SPEEDFLOOR&reg;&nbsp;Suspended Concrete Flooring was erected and completed in four weeks over one summer break while the second level was erected and
